Coko Galore is a Toronto-based actor, comedian and curator. In 2015, Coko wrote, performed and produced her first solo-show ‘Mixed Chick’ (dir. Leslie Seiler) at The Toronto Fringe Festival. She is one half of the acclaimed improv comedy duo Coko and Daphney. Together, they have performed in many festivals across North America like OFF-JFL (Montreal), The Toronto Harbourfront's Brave and Kumba, Stumptown Improv Festival (Portland) and more. Coko is a curator, producer and director that focuses on highlighting BIPOC & LGTBQ+ performances and stories. She is the curator and producer of Kiss N Tell and Black and Funny - Toronto and director of Playlist (Ottawa Improv Festival) and Love (Vancouver International Improv Festival).
Coko Galore is currently Interim Artistic & Managing Director of The Bad Dog Comedy Theatre.
As an artist, my personal goal and mandate is to uplift, highlight and make space for under-represented voices. I am still growing and learning but as I move, I want to open the door for others to walk with me. You can do the same by supporting your local artists, performers and their work.
